I am in India for my first time! Pretty much everything that I had read and heard about was true. It is definitely loud and crowded and (often) dirty but it's also full of wonderful people, beautiful bright colors, and amazing new things to see. We spent 2 days in Delhi, 2 days in Jaipur, and now we are going to Udaipur. At first I had a hard time getting used to Delhi because EVERYONE stares at us! We definitely look different! I bought an Indian shirt and now I feel a little more normal. Delhi was very crowded so Jaipur feels small but it still has over 3 million people!
The driving is CRAZY here! There are no rules so all the cars, motorcycles, bikes, buses, and "tuk-tuks" just go anywhere they want (sometimes even on the wrong side of the road), there's no lines, and they are all honking because everyone is about to run into everyone else. I've never seen anything like it.
The food has been great and it's easy to find good restaurants and nice places to stay. Every day I'm here I like it more and more. I am going to try and share photos soon but it's hard when it's not from my own computer.

P.S. Write me some comments so I know you're reading and how school is going...otherwise I won't keep updating!

Hi Mrs. Kuschel,
ReplyDeleteI like the part about the driving. It sounds fun but dangerous. School is good. I like Mrs. Anderson. The Patriots have won one and lost one-to the Jets. I miss you.

I'm glad school is going well! I have been using my Patriots playing cards. I was actually able to see their first game when they won (barely) so that was fun!
ReplyDeleteHi, Mrs, Kuschel,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are having fun. I think it would be cool to drive on the road with no rules.
I'm moving to a house in Abbot School area. I'm in Mrs. Perron's class (Day School) right now. Hope to see you soon. I'm getting a little nervous about my new school.
Hi Tony! Are you in Mrs. Perron the art teacher's class? That's a big change, moving to a new house and school, but I've heard great things about Abbot School and I know some teachers there who are very nice. Plus, you're so friendly you're going to make so many friends quickly just like you did in our class! Let me know how it goes.
